My wife just had paradontics surgery and it saved us a bundle of money. The dentist also does Bruce Springstien's teeth. Saved almost two thousand dollars. Have to say it's better than the federal dental insurance plans. I'm retired and would recommend this to all my friends.

Thank Goodness for DentalPlans.com. Through the years before I had a dental plan, I would have teeth extracted because I couldn't afford to get crowns or any other costly dental work. I didn't get teeth cleaned once a year let alone twice. Also, I was in a terrible car accident and some teeth were badly damaged. Other than front teeth, I eventually lost all back teeth. I recently was losing a front tooth and because I had a dental plan, I was able to get a permanent partial. I also get cleanings twice a year. Also, my husband has had to have crowns installed since we joined DentalPlans. DentalPlans has helped us keep and maintain the teeth we have. In November of 2010 at my regular dental visit for a cleaning with a dentist I had been with for 40 years, it was suggested to me that I see a periodontist. I asked why and the hygienist that has cleaned my teeth for a good part of these years told me I needed a scaling. When I asked what that was and the cost, I was upset that I needed this after religiously visiting their office every 6 months and never being told there might be a problem. So I got on the Internet and found an office that did this work. In December 2010, I visited this office to have a gum chart done, and found out I had bone loss and pockets from 2 and 3 to 7 and 8. I was in tears, not only because of the condition of my teeth and gums, but I trusted my long time dentist and felt used. So I had the scaling done and followed by laser treatment. I am self employed, and had to pay for the total cost $1,100. I began to look into dental plans, and insurance is expensive. I was going to need a good amount of work to try and repair the damage done by years of substandard care. I found Dentalplans.com and saw that I could get a discount plan that would help with the cost for a reasonable price. UPromise also gave me a discount on the plan and money in my grandson's college savings fund for my joining, it was a win win deal so I joined. I have saved about $1,000 so far and will be renewing for another year. I was lucky my new dentist was on the list from DentalPlans and accepted the plan, because I am now able to get the work I need done and save a considerable amount of money.

My husband and I joined DentalPlans several years ago, due to no coverage at our place of employment. Since then, we have been very happy we joined and it has saved us lots of money. One thing I learned this year was that I could go as many times in the year for a cleaning as I wanted and still get the savings, whereas with our old plan we could only go twice a year and then had to pay the full price for any additional cleanings. My husband and I both like to get our cleaning every 4 months so this was a great benefit for us to learn that we get the same great discount no matter how many times we use the benefit in one year. I have had Aetna Dental Access since 9/12/2011. This plan has saved me SO much money on my teeth. I had many estimates to get my teeth fixed but they were too expensive. I signed me and my husband up for DentalPlans.com back in December after hearing about it from Aspen Dental. My husband had to have a lot of dental work done and we did not know what we were going to do. We do not have dental insurance and we did not have the extra cash to pay for all the medical expenses. I just wanted to thank you for existing! When I was divorced a while back, I lost my dental insurance that I had with my husband's job. I was in a panic really, as I know how much that insurance had saved me through the years. And dental work, and maintenance just doesn't 'go away.' If it wasn't for our dental plan, I would have a big gap in my front teeth. A tooth had to be extracted and a permanent bridge put in. No way could I afford that if I didn't have the discount plan. I also have to have some work done on my bottom front teeth. This is a big investment but with our plan, I am having it all done. I, Doris Hanna, want to tell anyone who cannot afford a full coverage dental plan that I purchased one of these discount plans for my husband and myself... shortly after that he had to have a wisdom tooth extracted by a specialist... referred to us by our dentist. Not only do we save half with our own dentist, the specialist that extracted the tooth took 50% off the bill and that was after the fact, meaning, he did not know we had this plan when he gave us the cost. We showed him our membership and we immediately saved $200... that was the cost of our plan for both of us for a year... Worth every penny. We are both retired with a medical supplement, but would need to pay $50 more for dental a month. This is much better for us as far as saving money.

This is better than having insurance for me because it is more affordable if you are paying for your own insurance, and it discounts some services that insurance does not!
